Marine Mammal Survey
The survey division of Northern Commanders works with NOAA, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and private research groups to observe and collect data on marine mammals in The North Pacific and the Bering, Chukchi and Beaufort Seas of Alaska and Canada.

Our Projects have included:

  • Surveys of the Beaufort and Chukchi shorelines and islands for Polar Bears
  • Surveys in the central Bearing Sea for late winter congregations of Spectacled Eiders
  • Southern Bering surveys of Right Whales
  • Southern Bering and North Pacific shoreline surveys of Harbor Seals
  • Cook Inlet Beluga whale surveys

  •
We are able to configure our airplanes with bubble or flat windows,
and have opening data collection ports in the belly for photography,
LIDAR, FLIR or whatever other needs the observers may have.

Our planes and pilots are inspected and approved by the US
Department of the Interior, the US Forest Service and the State
    of Alaska.
